TEKLA LABORATORY

As a need for the UAG university to promote the TEKLA program for structural shop drawings. In association with the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and the company Aceros Corey/Regal.

The building represents the UAG logo imitating the shape of the wing of an owl through steel elements that unfold from horizontal beams towards vertical columns. A very sculptural form that will undoubtedly be a landmark for the university.

The structure melts as a single skin as a lattice to reduce the solar incidence inside the laboratory.  This same space will be used to exhibit works of art as well as an auditorium for different uses.  The fifth facade is being used as an amphitheater and will also be used as an auditorium. Rest terrace for level 1 of the existing building.

The contrast of the steel structure with the typology of the university itself in the form of concrete slabs, seeks to contrast the new building to identify it as an urban sculpture of identification of the university itself.

The landscape design inserts a courtyard where the classroom can be ventilated since the temperature in Guadalajara is very high.  The need to integrate the interior with the exterior and to have a green view to the interior.  A water mirror with a river stone backdrop to reflect the structure and refresh the area.
